    Everyone has fallen from time to time. More and more we hear about these dangerous falls be it a construction worker falling from a roof or an industrial worker working from a ladder without a safety harness.

    This course does not pertain to new construction worksites in Ontario where a very specific, “Working at Heights”, government course required along with a “practical” component regarding the proper use of safety harnesses and fall restriction Personal Protective Equipment.

    This course does cover critical areas of fall protection training, including fall protection and fall arrest.

    Fall Protection – Our course consists of 10 sessions. This Fall Protection course is designed primarily for all worksites; however, it does not pertain to new construction worksites in Ontario where a very specific, “Working at Heights”, government course required along with a “practical” component regarding the proper use of safety harnesses and fall restriction Personal Protective Equipment.

    This course does cover critical areas of fall protection training, including fall protection and fall arrest.

    Your employees will Learn to recognize an unsafe worksite and to maintain safety with fall prevention and fall arrest techniques.

    The course duration is approximately 75 minutes.

    Course Details

    Session 1

    Session 1 covers the legal responsibilities of employers and employees.

    Every Province and Territory in Canada has specific regulations dealing with Fall Protection under their Occupational Health & Safety Acts.

    Whether you are in Nova Scotia, Alberta, or Ontario or any other jurisdiction, common principles of safety apply and the OHSA fall protection are virtually identical.

    Session 3

    Session 3 details the use of ladders. Fall prevention and Fall Arrest are two terms we constantly hear about. Both are part of Fall Protection but, they are not the same thing.

    Fall prevention methods are used to keep workers away from dangerous areas where a fall may occur.

    Session 5

    Session 5 covers roof work. Discussed are the three essential fall protection components required based on the height, slope, and the nature of the surface below.

    Session 7

    Session 7 covers Fall Arrest protects a worker from injury when they have fallen. The word arrest means “stop, catch, or hold”. If a fall occurs, systems need to be used that keep the worker from hitting the ground or water, the next level below, or any object below.

    Session 9

    Session 9 outlines the requirements of Safety Procedures. Detailing Rescue plans and why necessary.

    Session 2

    Session 2 covers Hazards. Fall Protection is required where a person is exposed to the hazard of falling from a work area. The online fall protection training outlines the parameters fall protection training.

    Session 4

    Session 4 deals with Work Platforms. PEWP or Power Elevating Work Platforms being used require workers to be trained in their use, as well as the proper tie offs and harnesses.

    Session 6

    Session 6 trains on the proper use and set up of scaffolds.  Scaffolds are a very common and useful means to carry out work at an elevated level. However, there are sound principals of Safety to be applied when working on or around scaffolds.

    Session 8

    Session 8 deals with Fixed Ladder Hatchways. Discussed are the Safety Harness required, how to safely maneuver around the hatchway.

    Session 10

    Session 10 reviews the use of Anchor Systems, the types and how to plan for their use.

    FAQs

    How long does the course take?

    The course is designed to be fully comprehensive of all the information you need to become a competent forklift operator. It covers the OSHA and CSA safety requirements and can be completed in 75 minutes. It may take more or less time depending on the individual.

    How long before I can start the course?

    You can begin assigning courses immediately after signing up and paying for them. The sign-up process is quick and easy, and shortly you can have your personnel started on the course itself.

    Is the course compliant with all laws and regulations?

    Yes, the course covers all the competency requirements of OSHA and CSA Fall Protection standards. There are other forms of workplace and equipment training that may also be required at your workplace for fall protection training, but this type of training is done by the employer.
